The University School of Journalism was closed down to-day, after an attack made by the non-Jewish students on their Jewish colleagues, who number only eight in all. Every one of the Jewish students was driven out of the school.

There was trouble also to-day at the Technical High School, where the National Democrats attacked the Jewish students, and ejected them from the building. The police came to the protection of the Jewish students, but the situation looked very threatening, so the authorities decided to close the school.

The Technical High School was founded by a Jewish family named Wawelberg, all the members of which, except one, M. Hippolyte Wawelberg, have since become baptised. M. Hippolyte Wawelberg, who is still a Jew, continues to subsidise the school even now, so a deputation of Jewish students visited him to-day to appeal for his help, that Jews should not be beaten at a school which was founded and is still largely maintained by Jewish money. M. Wawelberg promised that he would make strong representations on their behalf.
