General Sir Arthur Wauchope, the new High Commissioner for Palestine, who saw the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, to-day, left London this evening for Palestine to take up his official duties.

On the recommendation of the Palestine Government, the Colonial Office has now agreed in principle, the J.T.A. is informed by the Colonial Office, to reduce the amount required by persons of independent means to enter Palestine as immigrants from £1,000 to £500, as was the case under the immigration ordinance of 1925. This concession will begin to operate as soon as the incidental legal details connected with this matter have been settled, when an ordinance to his effect will be issued.
