About 15,000 people attended last night a big Maccabean Festival to celebrate the closing of the Chanucah feast held in Madison Square Garden, the largest public hall in New York.

The celebration was arranged by the New York Zionist Region, with the support of the Hadassah and the Order Sons of Zion, and the speakers included Mr. Louis Lipsky, Judge Julian W. Mack and Mr. Herbert Lehman, the Lieut.-Governor of New York State.

A cable message of greeting received from Dr. Weizmann was read out to the gathering.

Last year Professor Einstein was in New York and addressed the Maccabean festival in Madison Square Garden, also attended as this year by 15,000 people. Let us remember on this festival commemorating the Maccabeans that times change but we remain, he said in his address.
