The two groups of Hasharon and Sarona which are to combine and become Ramath David, in tribute to Mr. David Lloyd George, have been provided with a modern water installation by the Jewish National Fund. The neighbouring Kvuza of G’vath will also benefit from this supply.
The Ramath David water tower is described as architecturally the finest in the Valley of Jezreel. It can be seen at a great distance. At G’vath a surface cistern has been erected. The well dug in order to obtain the supply yields 13-15 cubic metres per hour according to the season. The well is fed from underground springs, now forming swamps to the South of Nahalal, the mal-effects of which will therefore be reduced. The tower has a capacity of 75 cubic metres and the cistern of 50 cubic metres. As it is reckoned that 1 cubic metre of water suffices for a family’s needs, including the watering of garden and of livestock, the present supply is enough for 120 families, so that there is a reserve for the expansion of the settlement. Similar J.N.F. water supplies at Kfar Baruch and Sarid are nearing completion.
