Dissatisfaction with the intimidation methods practiced during the recent elections was expressed by Deputy Michael Landau, in his first address before the new Parliament, last night.

Deputy Landau stated, however, that in most of the districts the elections were properly conducted and the Jewish population was not intimidated.

In accordance with a decision adopted by the Jewish Parliamentary Club, the Jewish deputies will maintain a neutral attitude toward the government and will await future developments, watching with particular care the government attitude toward Jewish questions.

Professor Cuza, the anti-Semitic leader, and the oldest member of Parliament, where he has served for forty years, was confronted with an embarrassing situation last night.

As the presiding officer of the Parliamentary Memorial session, he was compelled to omit his usual insulting preference for the term “Judane” when referring to a Jewish deputy who joined the memorial session.

Professor Cuza hesitated at first and finally submitted to the usual procedure, declaring: “I invite the representative of the Hebrew Party to address Parliament.”
