The General Council of the World Zionist Organization concluded its sessions at seven o’clock this morning after an all night session devoted to a heated discussion on the Revisionist demand for recognition as an independent union within the Zionist Organization.
By a vote of twenty-two to twenty-one, recognition of the Revisionist Union was voted upon without the limitation that the Revisionists be prohibited from conducting separatist political work.
The vote of the Actions Committee averted a crisis which hung over its deliberations throughout the night. The Revisionists threatened to secede from the organization should their political activity be restricted.
The question of the reorganization of the Palestine offices, which has been the source of considerable controversy and which in Poland at one stage, brought about the boycotting of Zionist funds by Revisionists was also settled to the general satisfaction of the members. The reorganization of the Palestine offices was decided upon on the basis of proportionate representation of the various parties. In addition one representative of the largest Hechalutz organization will be accorded membership in the Palestine offices.
This question, the subject of a complaint by the Revisionist Union, which was refused handling by the Congress court was turned over to the Actions Committee for settlement.
