Irving Chayken, state director of Indiana B’nai B’rith, was today elected president of the America Lodge B’nai B’rith of Hammond.
Mr. Chayken, who was awarded the Croix de Guerre for extraordinary bravery on the fields of France during the World War, thus becomes the youngest man ever to hold a presidency in the state. He is 32 years old.
He is also president in the Hammond Merchant’s Association.
Morris Sabath, of Chicago, brother of Congressman A. J. Sabath and Judge Joseph Sabath, bequeathed $1,500 to charity. He left a $50,000 estate.
