President Paul von Hindenburg is scored by General Eric von Ludendorff, famous German war commander, who since the conclusion of the war has achieved notoriety as an anti-Semite, in a signed article in his organ, “Volkswarte,” yesterday for expressing opposition to any limitation of the political and religious rights of the Jews in Germany.
President von Hindenburg’s condemnation of any attempt to limit Jewish rights was made through Secretary of State Meissner, in reply to representations made on August 15th, by the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith. On that day the Central Union presented to the president a White Book offering documentary evidence of the extent of the Nazi terrorization of the Jews.
General von Ludendorff criticizes the President for offering such assurances to the Jews while complaints addressed to him by patriotic German organizations, he alleges, have been ignored.
