Constantin Brunner, famous philosopher, known as the Sage of Potsdam, who celebrated his 70th birthday recently, is the recipient of tribute from the German press.

Brunner, whose real name is Leopold Wertheimer, is hailed as one of the most distinguished and powerful thinkers of the day.

He was born in 1862 in Altona and is a grandson of Chief Rabbi Akibah Wertheimer. He is a Spinozist and anti-Kantian. His most important works are “Spinoza Against Kant” and “Anti-Jewish Hatred and Anti-German Hatred.”

A Constantin Brunner Society was founded in 1924 to spread his teaching.
