The removal of Dr. Lauscher, leader of the Centre Party fraction in the Prussian Diet was demanded today as an indication to the Jewish population that the Centre Party will not associate itself with anti-Semitic acts.
Representations were made to the Centre party by leaders of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith and the Zionist Federation in conection with Dr. Lauscher’s action yesterday in voting for a Nazi motion calling for the exclusion of Jews from employment in the broadcasting system. His vote was coupled with the statement that though not an anti-Semite he believes Jews should be removed from their present dominance in broadcasting.
Dr. Lauscher has not been able to allay the indignation of the Jews by his oppostion to another Nazi motion calling for the dismissal of Jewish teachers so that a Christian education might be insured in all the schools. When this came up for a vote, Dr. Lauscher declared the motion is incompatible with religious tolerance.
