Professor Ernst Freund of the University of Chicago, internationally known authority on jurisprudence, died in his sleep at the Billings Memorial Hospital, succumbing to a heart ailment.
Professor Freund was sixty-eight years old. Born in New York City on January 30, 1864, the son of Ludwig A. and Nannie Freund, he was educated at the Universities of Berlin and Heidelberg, and at Columbia University.
He had been a professor of jurisprudence and public law at the University of Chicago since 1902.
Professor Freund served as Commissioner of Uniform State Laws and was at one time the president of the American Political Science Association. He was a member of the Illinois and New York City Bar Associations and the Institut International du droit public.
Dr. Solomon Flink, of Elizabeth, N. J., has been appointed instructor in economics at Yeshiva College. Dr. Flink is also a member of the faculty of City College of New York.
