A street in Salonica is to be named Saadi Halevi Street in memory of the first editor of a Jewish-Spanish publication in Greece, it was announced yesterday by Mayor Vancavas of Salonica.
Simultaneously, the Mayor, who had visited many Jewish synagogues and other institutions during the holyday season, promised to increase municipal subsidies for Jewish undertakings.
