Colonel Henry Ren, youngest volunteer in the war of 1870, died here today at the age of seventy-seven.

Colonel Ren was one of the first to arrive at the headquarters of Garibaldi for enlistment, giving his age as eighteen, when actually he was only fifteen.

Ren was a captain in the army during the stormy Dreyfus period and experienced a most anxious time.
