Special precautions to prevent any possible outbreaks tomorrow, the fifteenth anniversary of the issuance of the Balfour Declaration, will be taken by the Palestine government.
The government yesterday issued a special order instructing the police to disperse crowds and empowering them to arrest, without warrants, all those who refuse to obey, and those who carry knives, guns or stones, in public places, if they think they are intended to disturb the public peace.
The order also permits policemen to arrest any one singing or agitating for incitement.
Punishment is also provided for press agitation.
The Arab Executive has called a general strike in the country for Balfour Day.
The “Falastin”, Arab organ, announces that tomorrow’s issue will be bordered in black as a sign of mourning. ground that the Balfour Declaration is responsible for all the poverty of the Arabs.
The Balfour Declaration, the Arab Executive proceeds, enables the Jews to rob the Arabs of their land and to deprive the Arabs of a livelihood.
All the stores and schools will be closed in Nablus tomorrow and Arabs from neighboring territory have been invited to come there to hold a demonstration.
The District Police Commissioner summoned the Mayor of Nablus today and warned him that peace and order must be maintained.
