The research group of philosophical and psychological departments of Syracuse University will sponsor a program on Tuesday evening, November 29, in Slocum Hall to celebrate the three hundredth anniversary of the birth of Baruch Spinoza.
Five members of the faculty will participate in the ceremony. Each one of the professors will present a ten-minute speech. Dr. I. Harris Levy of College of Medicine will open the evening program with a talk on “Spinoza the Man.” He will be followed by Dr. Ismar J. Peritz of Bible Department, who will discuss “Spinoza’s Bible and Religion.” Dr. Ernst Thelin will explain his psychology; Dr. Ross E. Hoople, his philosophy; Dr. Paul Ward, his ethical theory.
