The Law Commission of the Thuringian Diet today approved a Nazi motion for the prohibition of Schechita, the Jewish ritual method of slaughtering animals for food.

The Nazis and the agrarians voted for the measure while the Social-Democrats and the Communists opposed it. Actually the measure, even if adopted by the vote of the entire Diet, is ineffectual since it can enter into force only when other states decide similarly.
