A demand that Polish Jewry be granted the right to arm for self defense, “in view of the Polish government’s insufficient ability to check the riots,” was submitted to the Polish Consul General here today by the Executive of the Hebrew University Student Union in a special memorandum.

The Consul was also visited by a delegation of Polish Jews living in Jerusalem who asked stronger protective measures for their relatives in Poland.

The Polish consul informed the delegation that public opinion in Poland condemns the present riots and that those responsible will be severely punished.
