Reports from the Palestine offices in Poland which are responsible for alloting the emigration certificates and for facilitating the emigration of persons seeking permission to enter Palestine, as capitalists or with other qualifications, report that they are overwhelmed by the large number of applications reaching them from all parts of the country.
In some districts, the Palestine offices are besieged daily by hundreds whose only hope now seems to lie in the possibility of leaving for Palestine. The comparatively low quota of immigration certificates as well as the other restrictions to which immigration is subject, do not make it possible to accede to more than a small proportion of the applications.
Among those applying are many who are possessed of the required capital and other necessary qualifications which do not subject them to the certificate quota reserved for workers.
