Anti-Semitic youths, one of them, in the garb of a rabbi, celebrated the New Year by ridiculing Jewish passersby and singing insulting songs in the streets of the city.

Rabbi Rubinstein made representations to the Police Commandant who promised to arrest the youth who impersonated the rabbi on charges of insulting the Jewish religion.
