A demand was made by Herr Kube, the leader of the Nationalist Socialist fraction in the Prussian Diet, for a change of staff in the Ministry of the Interior, so as to prevent Jews from becoming naturalized in the future, asking at the same time whether the Ministry of the Interior is still composed in a similar manner to that of the previous Social Democratic Government.
Herr Kube asserted that it led to the Ministry being chiefly engaged in the naturalization of “Marxist Jews”. It is in this direction, Herr Kube declared, that a radical change in the personnel of the Ministry of the Interior is necessary, and asked the Minister of the Interior whether he would be prepared to change the personnel in such a way as to ensure German principles as opposed to the practice of naturalization during the last fourteen years.
Herr Kube’s question coincided with the warning issued by police headquarters to a number of non-German Communists residing in Germany who are charged with being engaged in subversive activities. The police warning to Communists is in accordance with the policy outlined by the new Chancellor, General von Schleicher, who proposed a more severe attitude towards Communism in Germany.
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency here learns from well-informed quarters that no changes in the Ministry are to be expected. The procedure governing naturalization is so precisely defined that no official can use his own discretion or show favoritism in matters affecting naturalization.
