Attacks upon Jews took place yesterday in many parts of Germany, with particular seriousness in Hamburg and Breslau.
In Hamburg Jews leaving synagogue services were attacked by members of the Nazi Storm Troops. Several of the injured were taken to hospitals.
The Nazi Storm Troops then proceeded to the cafe districts where they smashed the windows of cafes owned by Jews.
In Breslau a Jewish student, Walter Steinfeld, was killed by Nazis.
Steinfeld was attacked by the Nazis as he was returning from a demonstration by the republican organization, “Iron Front.”
He was stabbed several times and succumbed to his wounds in a hospital after several hours of agony.
Two of the Nazis who attacked Steinfeld were arrested.
For the third time within a month Nazis today smashed the warehouse of the Jewish sisters Mayer in the town of Fridberg, upper Hesse.
In Berlin there were no anti-Jewish incidents during the State funeral conducted yesterday for the Nazi Storm Trooper Hans Maikowski, who was killed in a clash with a Communist, although the demonstration took a half hour passing Grenadierstrasse, the heart of the Jewish quarter. Strong police guards were stationed along the line of the procession.
