Marked by extreme simplicity and attended only by members of the family and close friends, funeral services were held yesterday morning for Mrs. Jacob H. Schiff, who succumbed on Sunday in her 79th year.

The last rites were conducted from her city residence where she had lived alone since the death of her distinguished husband thirteen years ago. Rabbi Samuel Schulman of Temple Emanu-el, to which she belonged, officiated.

Five grandsons, the four sons of Mr. and Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, Frederick M.; Gerald F.; Paul Felix and Edward M. Warburg; and John M. Schiff, the son of the late Mortimer Schiff, acted as pall bearers.

The funeral cortege made its way from the house to Salem Fields Cemetery in Brooklyn, where the body was buried beside that of Jacob H. Schiff.

Special services in memory of Mrs. Jacob H. Schiff were held at five o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Jacob H. Schiff Center, named for her husband, the distinguished philanthropist.

All social and athletic activities were suspended during the period of the services.

Mrs. Schiff was interested in the work of the Center to whose support she contributed generously. She paid her last visit to the institution on January 7th when she attended special services on the occasion of the anniversary of her husband’s birth.

Resolutions of mourning were adopted by the Hebrew Free Loan Society and the Women’s Association of the Ort.
