The Jewish Community of Palestine is aroused over the attitude displayed by a Canadian Jewish attorney, who has prevented the Jewish National Fund from acquiring a large land area owned by Arabs, for which it has been negotiating for several years.
The attorney, Philip Joseph, has prevented the sale of the land to the Jews in the interests of his own private gains. Mr. Joseph, it is stated, declares that he purchased the land in behalf of a company comprised of American and British Jews.
Because of the developments, the Jewish National Fund has issued a public warning to residents in Palestine and abroad, not to enter into negotiations with Mr. Joseph before communicating with it.
The press comments editorially on the growing menace of land speculation in connection with the Joseph matter.
