Prior to departing for Paris, after a medical cure in Berlin, the Lubawitcher Rebbe cabled a message to Mayor Anton Cermak in a hospital in Miami, where he has been confined by a would-be assassin’s bullet.
The message declared: “Your good deeds in behalf of the general public and the Jews aid you in your recovery.”
The Lubawitcher Rebbe had been asked by one of the Mayor’s daughters to pray for his recovery.
