The “Daily Herald” of London publishes gruesome details of the alleged torture of Jews arrested on the pretense of Communism. The “Daily Herald” says that the arrested persons were not taken to prison, but kept by Nazis in three special houses in different parts of Berlin, where they were inhumanly tortured, mercilessly beaten, and made to drink castor oil. When handed over to the police, the victims were frequently in a condition calling for immediate hospital treatment. The same paper describes the anxieties of many Jews in Germany, who, now fearing arrests by irresponsible Nazis, who are not even in possession of official warrants, sleep in different places every night, so as to avoid discovery.
