The High Commissioner, Sir Arthur G. Wauchope, has consented to extend his patronage to the Anglo-Palestine Exhibition which will be held in London at the end of May, 1933, and the aim of which is to draw closer the people of Palestine and England by exhibiting the achievements of both countries in the spheres of economic cultural life.
M. M. Ussishkin has been invited to serve as President of the Palestine Committee which will comprise personalities representative of Palestine life. Meyer Dizengoff, the Mayor of Tel Aviv, is invited to be one of the Vice-Presidents. Emanuel Neumann, the head of the Economic Department of the Jewish Agency, is invited to be the Chairman of the General Council. The others invited for this committee are Dr. Ch. Arlosoroff, M. Novomeysky, S. Hoofien, A. Goldwater, Y. Weizmann and A. Shenkar, the President of the Federation of Jewish Industries in Palestine. Mr. Elias M. Epstein, the General Secretary of the Jewish National Fund, is invited to be Honorary Secretary.
The Palestine section of the London Exhibition, it is confidently foreshadowed here, will play an important part in enlightening the British people on the remarkable progress of Palestine in the fields of culture and economics. Lord Reading has agreed to become president of the Exhibition Committee which has been formed in London. The other members of the London committee include Lord Cecil, Lord Melchett, Mr. David Lloyd George, Mr. d’Avigdor Goldsmid, Lord Snell, Lord Snowden, Major H. L. Nathan, M.P., Mr. James de Rothschild, Sir Herbert Samuel, M.P., Dr. Ch. Weizmann, Sir Robert Waley Cohen and many other prominent English people.
