Russia Honors Jews, Aides to Soviet Heads

The highest Soviet decorations, the Lenin Order and the Red Star, were bestowed upon Jacob Gamarnik, second in charge of the Soviet army next to Voroshilov, the war commissar, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Red Army. Gamarnik is also the chairman of the military council and chief of the political administration of the Red Army. Michael Kagonovitch, a brother of Lazar Kagonovitch, the right-hand man of Stalin, has been appointed acting commissar of the heavy industries. Michael Kaganovitch was well-known among the Jewish Labor Parties in Homel as the leader of the Jewish revolutionary workers there.
