Cogressman Emanuel Celler, in a letter addressed to Major William Kennelly, President of the New York Athletic Club, and just made public, protested against Germany’s application of anti-Semitism to the world of sport, as evidenced by the exclusion of Dr. Daniel Prenn from the German team which will compete in the Davis Cup matches. In his protest Congressman Celler pointed out that Theodore Lewald is to resign from the chairmanship of the German Sports Federation as a result of Nazi pressure, because he is only one-quarter Jewish.
