Jewish breadlines in Germany are doubling over night, the number of the helpless leaping from thirty to eighty thousand in less than a week, according to authoritative reports received here today. Estimated last week at thirty thousand, the crowd of German-Jews absolutely dependent on the soup-kitchens for subsistence is given today as between sixty and eighty thousand.
Most of these are ruined middle-class folk, shop-keepers, white-collar workers, and professional people who have been forced to give up their means of livelihood by the economic anti-Semitic measures instituted by the Nazi administration.
