Nazi Paper Ridicules Jesse Isidor Straus

The government of the United States is the subject of gibe and ridicule in the “Aryishe Rundschau,” the new Nazi paper established chiefly for the purpose of anti-Semitic propaganda, as it is no longer convenient for the “Voelkischer Beobachter,” now a government organ, to indulge in Jew-baiting. Although the “Voelkischer Beobachter” has by no means given up its anti-Semitic policy, the “dirty work” in the campaign is now left to the “Rundschau”. In referring to the rumor that Sol Bloom is being considered as United States ambassador to Poland, the “Rundschau” calls Bloom a “Polish Jew from Grodno”, and jeers at the idea of a Polish Jew representing American interests in Poland. The paper refers to Jesse Isidor Straus, U. S. ambassador to France, as a “sly business man.”
