Internal Passport Supervision Transferred to Gepeu; Expect Jewish Declassed to Suffer

A large number of Jews will be adversely affected by the new government decree introducing a system of internal passports for all persons above the age of sixteen, it is pointed out here today in connection with the transfer of the supervision of the passport system from the police to that of the Gepeu, secret political police.

The purpose of the decree, according to the press, is to purge the large towns, as well as the industrial centres of the declassed, starting with Moscow, Leningrad, Kieff, and Minsk. Large numbers of Jewish declassed reside in all these centres. The declassed, according to the decree, will be expelled from their homes and compelled to leave town.
