The name of Arturo Toscanini will be inscribed in the Golden Book of the Keren Kayemeth Le Israel (Jewish National Fund) for his refusal to direct the Wagnerian Festival at Beiruth later this month as an expression of protest against the discriminatory policies of the Hitler regime in Germany. One hundred pages in the Golden Book are devoted to inscriptions of the names of distinguished Jews and non-Jews who have rendered unusual services to the cause of humanity and the upbuilding of Palestine as a Jewish national home.

A message was sent to the famous maestro at Milan yesterday by the Jewish National Fund informing him of the decision to inscribe his name and applauding him for his action.
