The Cuban government has acceded to strong representations by delegates of the Jewish community on the prohibition of a Jewish protest meeting against the anti-Semitic persecutions in Germany.

General Herero, Minister of War and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, told the Jewish delegation that he sees no reason why the Jewish protest meeting should be interfered with. He promised to ask the military commandant, Brigadier Frederico Rasco, that Jews be permitted to hold any gatherings and protest metings that they may desire.

Brigadier Rasco later told the Jewish representatives that he makes no racial or religious discriminations and that the Jewish community may proceed with the preparations for a protest meeting on June 13.
