Prior to his departure for Europe, where he will join Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, Bernard S. Deutsch, president of the American Jewish Congress, declared that his organization will make representations to the League of Nations to expand the Nansen passport system to apply to Jews who are being expelled from Germany. “There seems to be no doubt that the East European Jews are to be further victims of Nazi virulence,” he told members of his organization at a dinner in his honor in the Bronx.
