Two well-known members of the San Francisco Jewish community have been appointed to state positions by Governor James Rolph, Jr.

Colonel Herbert Choynski has been named chairman of the northern district of the Spanish War Commemoration Commission.

Melville Schweitzer has been appointed a member of the board of trustees of the Sonoma State Hospital.
