New Decree Restricts Jewish Doctors’ Activities

Non-Jewish physicians will be penalized if they have any association at all with Jewish doctors according to the ruling put into effect yesterday by the commissariat for medical associations. The penalties will also be applied if non-Jewish physicians treat patients under the care of Jewish doctors.

The decree issued by the commissariat prohibits the substitution of non-Jewish for Jewish physicians and vice versa, the recommending by non-Jewish doctors of patients to Jewish medical men, and the treatment by non-Jews of patients recommended to them by Jewish doctors, and the association of non-Jewish doctors with their Jewish colleagues in consultations.

Physicians violating this decree will be fined to the extent of one and a half times the renumeration received in each case.
