A hegemony of the Left Wing Zionists will be the main preoccupation of the Eighteenth World Zionist Congress at Prague in the latter part of August, Vladimir Jabotinsky, Revisionist leader, stated in an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here. He predicted a quiet Congress.
“I do not yet know the exact figures, but it already seems certain that the main preoccupation of the Congress will be the danger of a hegemony of the Left wing,” Mr. Jabotinsky said.
“Should the Left be able to form a numerical majority alone or with the help of some Weizmannist elements, it will mean practically repulsing all the rest of the fractions from any interest in the activities of the Zionist Organization for the next two years. Even the funds will suffer immensely in that case.
JUDENSTAAT FRONT
“If a Left majority is not achieved, however, then we may expect various attempts to create a big Judenstaat front with a strong anti-class war tendency. If such a front is formed and proves strong enough to elect a Judenstaatler Executive, in which case the new course of the Zionist movement will have to be expressed in clear resolutions, then I do not see why Revisionists, if requested, should not join such an Executive.
“I know,” said Mr. Jabotinsky, “that everyone is expecting a very tumultuous Congress, but I am not so very sure of that. No blood-libel attempts will be permitted, of course, but I very much doubt whether anyone at Prague will seek to engage in that sort of eloquence.
“I should therefore not be surprised if this Congress proves to be one of the quietest, at least until the last few days, when the Left, unless it is in an absolute majority, will begin to realize that their game is lost.”
