Jewish Philologist Traces Latin Tongue to Hebrew

Hebrew as the source of Latin, is the theme of a new book by Dr. David Peretz, noted Jewish Sephardic philologist of Brazil.

The book was written in Portuguese. It has been well received in intellectual circles and its author was congratulated for his development of the theory that Hebrew influenced Latin and the Romance languages—thus Portuguese.

Dr. Peretz is Professor of Romance Languages at a number of colleges in the Brazilian capital, and is considered an outstanding authority in his field.
