Formal hearings will be held at Washington in a few days on the provisions of the NRA code which is to regulate the Federation of Kosher Butchers of New York, it was learned, following settlement of the disagreements with the general code established by General Hugh S. Johnson.
The national conference of the kosher butchers, which opened at the Hotel Pennsylvania on Sunday, determined to press the following provisions:
1. It shall be unfair practice to sell or advertise a product at less than 15 percent above standard cost of production.
2. It shall be unfair practice to pay or agree to pay any tribute to obtain unfair advantages or protection or privileges not enjoyed by others in the industry.
3. The code provides for a minimum working week of forty-eight hours.
4. Shops will be permitted to remain open fifty-eight hours a week.
A resolution was also adopted at the conference which pledges members of the federation to support the “systematic boycott of trade with Germany” as well as the program of relief work for the Jews in Germany.
