Declaring that there was no room in this country for a philosophy that is opposed to the American principles of free speech, freedom of discussion and freedom for all religions, Homer L. Chaillaux, commander of the department of California of the American Legion, and A. P. Entenza, commander of the Spanish American War Veterans, vigorously denounced the encroachments of Hitlerism and Nazi influence in this country, at a luncheon meeting of the local B’nai B’rith lodge.
“We deem it our duty,” said Commander Chaillaux, “as it was in 1917, as lovers of American principles, to rise again and oppose those forces that are being brought to this country from Germany. We will not permit that Nazi philosophy to creep into this country and into American life. We pledge you our support against Hitlerism.”
