Christian firms all over Germany were advised by the Department of Commerce today to obtain special Nazi trade signs which will make it clear to their customers that they are neither Jewish nor foreign. At the same time the firms were given the address at which the signs could be obtained.
This followed yesterday’s announcement by the Department of Commerce that Jews may be admitted as members of the Trader’s Association, but that Jews are not entitled to occupy executive positions in the Association, and that the same ruling applies to all foreigners.
The order explains that the Nazi movement consider the Jews as guests of the nation who are permitted to trade in Germany. The logical consequence is, that Jewish firms cannot belong to the management associations but are permitted ordinary membership. And as long as orders to the contrary are not received from the government. Jews should be enrolled in the Trade Associations and invited to the general meetings the order concludes.
