The Executive of the Jewish Agency for Palestine did not participate in any way in the three million mark agreement with the German government or in the carrying out of the agreement, an official communique issued by the Agency today emphasized.
The agreement is to be carried out by organizations in no way subordinate to the Jewish Agency.
The alleged deals with the German government and with German agencies aroused a storm of protest from Jews all over the world.
Neither the Jewish Agency for Palestine nor any of its institutions or indeed any responsible Jewish body in Palestine or elsewhere was involved in negotiations on the orange deals with Germany, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned from authoritative sources today.
The orange deals constitute no agreement. All that exists at present is permission granted by the German government to German trade organizations to conclude such agreements and the matter, from the Jewish viewpoint, is of no practical importance or value, the semi-official declaration states.
