Flemish Nazis in Ghent Riot; Police Halt Opening of Hitler “green House”

The demonstration of Flemish Nazis in Ghent, which was to have taken plact last week on the occasion of the opening of a Nazi Green House, was frustrated by the police, who surrounded the building and prevented the demonstration, whereupon the Nazis announced that the inauguration of the Green House had been indefinitely postponed.

The Belgian government is preparing a law to prohibit the wearing of party uniforms.

A fierce agitation by the anti-Semitic group, headed by the daily newspaper L’Assault, has developed in Antwerp in connection with the decision of the Antwerp municipality to withdraw subsidies from all religious schools. Despite the fact that the Jewish schools are also affected, L’Aassault alleges that the Jews continue to obtain a subsidy of 250,000 francs, inciting the population against this alleged domination by the Jews.
