Although the journalists’s law framed by Paul Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment, makes no exception in the case of Jewish war veterans, ordering a clean expulsion of all who are of Jewish origin, the Frankfurter Zeitung declared today that it has learned that modifications of the law may be expected. The clean sweep provided for by the law at present, will not be executed, it declares.
The Frankfurter Zeitung sees the following loopholes in the law:
1. The possibility that it may not be made retroactive. Thus persons of Jewish origin already in posts may possibly be permitted to retain them.
2. Certain concessions may be made for Aryans married to Jew- ### esses that will enable them to keep their positions.
3. There is a possibility that the concessions extended to lawyers and doctors will also apply to journalists and the war veterans among them will be permitted to stay in their jobs.
The Jewish press is not expected to fall under the press control law, as “papers designated for a definite circle of readers” are exempted from the working of the law.
