The Municipality has notified 97 Jewish stallholders in the city market that their licenses are to be cancelled beginning today, and that they no longer will be permited to carry on trade.

While the decision was not directed exclusively against Jews but against foreigners generally, the Jewish traders will be most seriously affected. The Union of Jewish. Traders has protested to authorities with the hope of having the order revoked.
