The Central Committee for Assisting German Refugees has suspended its activities due to lack of funds. Whether it will resume its relief work is doubtful, since Baron Edmund de Rothschild, who had advanced the necessary funds when the committee’s means were exhausted, declined to continue making contributions. He charged that Jews of other countries, particularly in the United States, from which funds are no longer received, are indifferent to the fate of the homeless refugees cared for by the committee.

Relief groups in Antwerp and Amsterdam have also suspended their activities for the same reason, it is further learned.
