The opening of the new Jewish Community Center here yesterday, brought to fulfillment plans to house together thirty-one Jewish organizations. Rabbi Elliot M. Burstein, president of the Board of Rabbis of Northern California, offered the opening prayer in the dedication ceremony. Among those who addressed the large gathering were Governor James Rolph, Jr., Mayor Angelo J. Rossi, Congresswoman Florence P. Kahn, and Lloyd Dinkelspiel, president of the Center.

The community house, which cost $650,000 to build, is equipped with a swimming pool, gymnasium, exercise rooms, and a little theatre with modern stage equipment. The building also contains a library with reading rooms adjoining, lecture rooms and meeting rooms.

Officers of the Center are: Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel, president; Walter D. Heller, first vice-president; Edsmond Schapiro, second vice-president; Robert M. Levison, treasurer; Edward I. Sugarman, assistant treasurer; Louis Blumenthal, secretary, and Miss Emma J. Loewy, assistant secretary.
