Sigmund Schneller, a member of the B’nai B’rith for 54 years, died suddenly of a heart attack, Thursday night while attending a meeting of the Manhattan-Washington lodge of the Order at the B’nai B’rith Club, called to discuss anti-Semitic activities in the United States. Physicians in the audience tried unsuccessfully to revive the stricken man.
Mr. Schneller was born in Postelberg, Bohemia, in 1856. He came to the United States as a young man. He was a skilled wood carver, but for some years before the advent of prohibition was employed by the Koehler Brewing Company.
Funeral services were to be held from his home, 1016 85th Street, Brooklyn, Saturday night.
