Authorities at Columbia University announced Monday that no plans had been formed to suppress an anti-Nazi demonstration scheduled by the Social Problems Club for December 12, when Dr. Hans Luther, German ambassador to the United States, will lecture at that institution.
A spokesman for Nicholas Murray Butler, president of the university, said that it is unlikely that any announcement would be made regarding measures to suppress the projected anti-Nazi demonstration and indicated that no attempt will be made to interfere with expressions of anti-Nazi sentiment on the part of the students.
On Sunday, Dr. Butler refused to meet the demands of the Columbia Social Problems Club for the cancellation of the invitation extended to Dr. Luther.
