Three hundred delegates and a thousand guests attended the opening tonight of the fourth congress of the League to Combat Anti-Semitism. Delegates present represented forty French provinces, Tunis and Algiers. A message of greeting to the congress was received from Professor Albert Einstein, who is now in the United States.
Bernhard Lacache, presiding over the congress, in a moving speech opening the session, thanked France for giving refuge to fugitives from the Nazis. His expressions were received with an ovation by the delegates.
The congress will discuss development of the boycott against German goods and is expected to conclude its deliberations tomorrow.
